I have had a new staff member start and really would like her to understand the power of web 2.0 for small business – and communications in general. My friend – and web guru – Carol Daunt Skyring runs this Free Online Tools eCourse. So Melissa is starting it tomorrow and will give an update on it as she goes along.

This FREE eCourse is delivered by email directly into your inbox.

Every second day for 3 weeks you’ll learn about a different online tool, how to access it and how you can use it in your business. All you need to do is read and click – all in the comfort of your own office or home.

This is an amazing service. I am sure you will find how important each of these topics can be to your business if used properly. I just read a book called Naked Conversations that educated me to the wonderful opportunities blogging can bring to any business.

I also thought I would give you a quick tip. Lesson #7 deals with chat/IMing/and VOIP. These days, there are a zillion programs to choose from, but only a few are worth the trouble. I am currently working with ooVoo, and I highly recommend their video-messaging service. It is free, takes 2 min. to download, and is probably the easiest program to use (bloggers think so). It allows up to 6 people to video conference at one time, using very little bandwidth (this is because it is server based rather than p2p), and can text/IM/voice chat/leave voicemail/and send video messages to any email.

Check it out at http://www.oovoo.com and see if it will work for your business. Enjoy the lessons, this is a great opportunity and piece of advice.
